Kris Hollingbery has been a member of the Yakima Valley community for over 40 years.
Kris makes some really cool grocery bags! They begin with some pretty designs like sunflowers or blue checkered plaid that are small enough to fit in your purse, and then with one simple zipper, the bags unfold to create one large grocery bag. Her designs are lightweight and washable.
A friend introduced her to the idea. Kris loves using reusable bags at the grocery store, rather than the typical plastic bags you get as it helps her to save the environment. She found that she was always forgetting the reusable bags she had in her car, but the bags she has created are easy to tuck in her purse and take with her.
Prior to making the grocery bags, Kris was a nurse, and recently retired from that. Along with that, she has enjoyed sewing and quilting for many years, and even pioneered a sewing class at the Madison House and Union Gospel Mission. She is also a leader at Young Life for some Selah High School students.
Kris has just begun this endeavor to sell grocery bags. You can contact her about special orders at firstname.lastname@example.org
